Charterpath turns 2!!

It’s hard to believe that it has only been two years since Alex and I launched Charterpath… in some ways I still can't believe we actually launched something we had dreamed of doing for so many years…. but then when I reflect on the hours of hard work, it feels like rather a lot longer!!

We thought it was about time to get together to celebrate everything that we have achieved over the past couple of years, and to share our plans for the future. The past two years have seen more than 350 accountants, bookkeepers, and finance professionals donating more than 7,500 hours and £250,000 in value to non-profits. Our next major goal? sign up 500 accountants to offer their services to nonprofit organisations. So you can see we've had cause for celebration. Huge thanks to our very generous partner, Marks Sattin who (like all great friends) kindly agreed to host a birthday party for us… We even managed balloons and cake!

It was great to bring together the Charterpath team, Charterpath volunteers, some of the non-profit organisations we have been able to support and many accountant friends past and present. The Folly by Monument proved a great venue with a very lively atmosphere, even if it made it rather too noisy to make a speech!!

The drinks were free flowing, new volunteers connected and a lot of familiar faces reunited....in particular from our PricewaterhouseCoopers and Close Brothers days and The final survivors made it to closing time - who said accountants were boring?

We came away from the night feeling motivated with more Charterpath roadshows planned, more volunteers signed up and in agreement that it should become an annual occurrence.

Thank you again to Marks Satin and to all of those who came along to support us - we can’t wait to turn 3!

“We were delighted to host a party for Alice, Alex and the wider team at Charterpath to recognise all their achievements and hard work over the past two years. It is incredible to see their vision turning into a reality and Marks Sattin are 100% behind the cause, encouraging our network of finance professionals to provide much needed support for charities across the UK. The night was a great mix of meeting new and old faces, sharing our passion to pay it forward. We can’t wait for next year (confident we’ll need a bigger venue seeing first-hand how the network is growing)!” ~ Alastair Paterson, Commercial Director @Marks Sattin
