About the organisation

The Young Trustees Movement is the leading national organisation for the empowerment and promotion of Young Trustees on charity boards.

The Young Trustees Movement is made up of current and aspiring young trustees, employers and allies. We exist to transform charity boards by growing and centring youth leadership, through disruption and collaboration across the sector. We value: intersectional diversity of perspectives, young people being safe and making informed choices, young people leading this movement, collaboration. Read more about our movement and values here.

The Young Trustees Movement has a fantastic network of movement speakers, and regularly works alongside other trailblazing organisations for promoting charity board diversity.

The Young Trustees Movement runs various opportunities both in-person and virtually, for current and aspiring young trustees, employers and boards to promote Trustees skills and training tailored to young people, alongside advertising Trustee opportunties for young people, bridging the gap for young trustees and boards.

The Young Trustees Movement Trustees board is currently made up of Young Trustees and Allies of the movement, with the Trustee board expanding as the organisation currently seeks incorporation.

About the role

The Young Trustees Movement (YTM) is looking to appoint a new Finance Trustee to its Board, in light of the current Finance Trustee moving abroad. The Young Trustees Movement is also in the process of incorporation, with the current and new Finance Trustee set to become the first Trustees of the movement once it is formally registered with the Charity Commission. This is a voluntary role responsible for ensuring the movement is well run, financially sustainable, and working effectively towards its purpose. While this is a voluntary role, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed and learning and development opportunities will be offered. The Finance Trustee will be appointed for a three year term.

The Finance Trustee will work with the whole board and staff team in leading the financial governance of the board, alongside all other standard Trustee responsibilities.

We will prioritise applications from those aged 30 and under for the role of Finance Trustee due to the nature of our movement,  but we welcome applications from people of all ages who align to our movement and values.
