About the role

As Treasurer Trustee, you will provide oversight, insight, and assurance on all financial matters, helping to guide strategic decisions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading oversight of budgets, financial planning, and annual accounts
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards
  • Advising the Board on financial strategy and sustainability
  • Monitoring performance against financial plans and supporting informed decision-making
  • Supporting the development of reserves, investment, and fundraising strategies
  • Presenting financial updates in a clear and engaging way to the Board and at the AGM
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to staff and fellow trustees on financial matters

Volunteer would be required to attend 4 board meetings a year as well as be part of the FRAC committee that meets just before each board meeting. Further to this the volunteer would be required to attend the annual review meeting with ECB. Any further meetings or requirements would potentially involve meeting Executive Director/Finance Officer to discuss current finances of the foundation across the year.

 

Our ideal candidate

We’re looking for someone who brings both financial expertise and a genuine passion for making a difference. You will likely have:

  • Strong financial management or accounting experience
  • Confidence interpreting financial data and advising at a strategic level
  • The ability to influence, challenge constructively, and think independently
  • An understanding (or willingness to learn) of charity finance and governance
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to our mission and values
  • The integrity and judgement required of a Trustee

Experience with financial systems such as Xero and knowledge of charity reporting or fundraising would be advantageous.
