“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline".
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
About the role
In addition to the standard charity trustee duties we are looking for someone finance or accounting skills to monitor our volunteer treasurer and help shape our ongoing financial reporting, planning and controls. Experience of property and insurance matters would also be useful.
We are particularly interested in candidates who would be prepared to chair the trustee meetings.
This is an opportunity to use your existing skills and develop new ones while making a difference to the community
Our ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate would demonstrate:
- Understanding of accounts and financial controls.
- Knowledge of UK charity regulatory framework
- Ability to communicate sensitively and clearly plus earn the respect of the board and wider team.
We would also welcome applications from those with experience of:
- Leased commercial property
- Business insurance
- Charity financial statements
- Working as part of a board or management team.
