About Treasures
For over 17 years, Treasures has been supporting women affected by homelessness, addiction, domestic abuse, trauma and involvement in the criminal justice system. We provide a trauma-informed recovery pathway that includes supported housing, a community day programme, family reconnection, move-on accommodation, employability opportunities and social enterprises that help women rebuild their lives.
An Exciting Time for Treasures
This is the most significant period of growth in our history. During the 2026/27 financial year, we expect to almost double our annual budget from £628,000 to £1.15 million, as a number of projects that have been part of our long-term strategy come to fruition.
This year we will:
- Open London’s only women-only detox service, planned for late autumn.
- Expand our supported accommodation from 14 properties to 19 by the end of the financial year
- Purchase the three homes that have supported our residents for the past 17 years, securing them for future generations.
- Expand our social enterprise and employability skills programmes.
- Develop stronger partnerships with statutory services and other charities.
- Continue influencing government policy and systems to improve support for women experiencing multiple disadvantage.
About the role
As a Trustee, you'll help shape the future of Treasures by providing strategic oversight, sharing your knowledge and experience, and supporting the Senior Leadership Team as the charity continues to grow.
The role includes:
- Attending four Board meetings each year (held in person and online).
- Joining a Board sub-committee where your skills are most relevant, such as Finance, Governance or Fundraising. These typically meet three to four times a year.
- Reading Board papers in advance and contributing to discussions and key decisions.
- Providing advice and constructive challenge to help the charity develop and achieve its long-term goals.
- Acting as an ambassador for Treasures by promoting our work and, where appropriate, introducing new contacts, partnerships or opportunities.
We're looking for people who can make a long-term commitment and are passionate about helping women rebuild their lives. Previous trustee experience isn't necessary, we'll provide a full induction and support to help you succeed in the role.

Who We Are Looking For
As our organisation continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our Board by recruiting a small number of new Trustees to help guide Treasures through this exciting stage of development. We are particularly keen to hear from people with financial backgrounds. As a Finance Trustee you will provide strategic financial leadership to ensure the Treasurers remains sustainable, compliant, and able to deliver its mission. The role includes monitoring financial performance, safeguarding assets, ensuring appropriate financial controls, and supporting risk management. Previous trustee experience is not essential - we welcome people whose knowledge and expertise come from their careers or lived experience.
