About the organisation

Revival – Wiltshire RASAC is an independent charity providing specialist counselling and support to survivors of rape, sexual violence, and abuse aged 16 and over across Swindon and Wiltshire. This includes support for both recent cases and those relating to non-recent child sexual abuse.

The organisation offers free, confidential counselling, ensuring survivors can access help regardless of when or where the abuse occurred. Its aim is to support individuals in understanding their experiences, rebuilding their lives, and making positive, life-changing choices in a safe and supportive environment.

Survivors are at the heart of all Revival’s work. With over 28 years of experience, it is the only specialist voluntary sector service in Wiltshire dedicated to supporting those affected by sexual violence and abuse, providing vital therapy and care to vulnerable individuals.

In light of the UK Government’s Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and its commitment to significantly reduce such violence over the next decade, Revival recognises the need to remain responsive, adaptable, and ambitious to meet increasing demand and evolving challenges.

About the role

The Treasurer will oversee the financial matters of the Charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. The Treasurer will ensure that effective financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place, and are appropriate for the Charity.

Our ideal candidate

When it comes to their new Treasurer, Revival are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and commitment who demonstrates:

  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial trustees.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Sound independent judgment and strong problem-solving skills. Conscientious, trustworthy, and diligent.
  • Collaborative, willing to mentor or support other trustees in financial understanding.
  • Hands-on when necessary, but focused on oversight and strategic guidance.

You'll have a background in finance management and ideally be a qualified accountant or equivalent by experience. An understanding of charity finance would be great but is not an essential.

What’s in it for you

As Revival-Wiltshire RASAC's new Treasurer, you will be at the heart of ensuring they continue to provide free, confidential therapeutic support to people of all genders, aged 16+, who have experienced rape, sexual abuse, or sexual exploitation.

This is a profound opportunity to use your professional skills and financial management understanding to make a meaningful, lasting impact. Your contribution will help Revival-Wiltshire RASAC to continue providing trauma informed, confidential services, sensitive to the needs of the individual.
