About the role
Our Trustees have 4 formal meetings a year which normally last around 2.5 hours each. Papers are normally sent out 1 week in advance and so there is reading prior to the meeting in order to prepare.
On top of that we have 3 subcommittees and we ask Trustees to join at least one of these. This position would be asked to chair the Finance Committee which also meets 4 times a year normally 2 weeks before the main Board meeting and for 2 hours. The papers are again sent out 1 week in advance of the meeting so reading is required and in addition, the management accounts are sent to the Finance Committee on a monthly basis.
There are regular strategy days for the Board which last around 3 hours 3/4 times a year and email contact in between meetings.
Our ideal candidate
We are looking for a Finance Trustees to join our Board and play a crucial role in steering The HIVE Portsmouth to achieve our mission to bring people together to build a happier, healthier and more connected city.
We do this by connecting and supporting individuals, charities and organisations from across the city in order to identify, find solutions to, and respond innovatively to the issues the people of Portsmouth are facing.
Following a recent skills audit of our Board we are specifically seeking individuals with expertise in Finance
to complement our existing team and are keen to have representatives from across our city’s broad VCSE sector.
