About the organisation
Our charity supports a primary school in a low income area of South London by raising funds to covers activities not covered by statutory funding. We have been doing this successfully now for 25 years. We also manage a fund of circa £200K to be used specifically to run an annual event which allows 120 children to attend sailing courses which is known to provide a number of beneficial aspects for their mental health, wellbeing and general confidence.
About the role
Like all charities we are required to produce annual accounts and have these independently examined. We no longer have access to any kind of subsidised assistance and we are being quoted over £1000 to produce accounts which we believe we cannot afford. We would like somebody (suitably qualified) to create our annual accounts and provide acknowledgement that our finances are satisfactory (independent examination). Our charity has typically less than 20 transactions per year but does have our sailing fund invested using a professional fund manager. We would expect the individual to work with a charity trustee to develop the accounts. All documentation will be digital and the work can be done remotely.
Our ideal candidate
A qualified accountant with previous experience of producing charity accounts and an independent examiner's report.
What’s in it for you
The candidate would be providing a valuable service to a small charity knowing that the money saved could be used to deliver the key objectives / projects that the charity supports.
