There is a low cost therapy service which we are keen to developand we have recognised expertise in trauma, dissociation, addiction and disability. We publish a journal - Attachment: New Directions in Psychotherapyand Relational Psychoanalysis.Our mission is:
- to develop the trainings and outreach provision aimed at improving access toafordable therapy and encouraging policy makers to heed attachment issues;
- to improve inclusivity, access, diversity, authenticity and excellence in thetrainings, courses and outreach work.
We are just about to appoint our first external part time CEO so we are at an exciting point in our development.
About the role
The small Board of Trustees, 6 people, needs a Trustee Treasurer to support the Chair in ensuring proper accounting records are kept and in overseeing financial planning and budgetting. They will liaise with the bookkeeper and external auditors and help the Board understand and keep track of the financial position.
The Board meets online every 2 months on a Friday afternoon from 1-3pm although we hope to move to quarterly meetings when the new CEO has settled in. We also plan to meet in person once a year for an extended planning meeting and an opportunity to get to know each other.
Our ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate would have the essential financial skills, good interpersonal skills, an awareness of the voluntary/not for profit sector and would enjoy working with a small efective and informal team. We hope they would have an interest in making figures/budgets/cash flows accessible to the Board. An interest in psychotherapy would be a bonus but not essential.
What’s in it for you
We are developing quickly with new trainings and a new CEO with an outward focus so this is an opportunity for someone to help us establish a more tailored and integrated system of financial control, albeit in a small voluntary organisation. We are passionate about the importance and value of attachment theory in helping people relate better in every aspect of their life and getting our financial controls in place will support our work significantly. The Trustee will be encouraged to attend our conferences etc so this would be a very interesting role for anyone with the financial skills and an interest in the field.
