About the organisation

The objectives of the Club (a registered charity) are to encourage the study and practice of dramatic art amongst the inhabitants of London and elsewhere and to promote and conduct such theatrical and musical perfromances, concerts and other educational enterprises in the attainment of this object. The Club's activities take place through a company limited by guarantee. The company owns and operates a purpose-built theatre building. The income and property of the Club is restricted to the undertaking of the Charity's objectives.

About the role

The FD provides financial advice to the other directors of the board, and is responsible for managing and controlling the company's finances, ensuring that adequate checks and balances exist. There are currently two supporting roles (filled) in the Finance team. The FD has various weekly, quarterly and annual responsibilities including reporting, attending meetings, regulatory submissions, budgets, annual report etc.

Our ideal candidate

A sound, experienced and competent business person. Comfortable using modern software packages, Accounting or Finance experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Ability to work harmoniously with other volunteers in a supportive environment. An interest in theatre is also an advantage.
