About the role
Shape the Future of Education - Join the Board of Directors – St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust
Are you looking for a meaningful leadership role where your skills can make a real difference?
The St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust is seeking talented, committed individuals to join our Trust Board as volunteer Directors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a growing multi-academy trust serving schools across the Diocese of Salford.
As a Director, you will:
* Help set the vision and strategic priorities of the Trust
* Oversee financial planning, performance, and compliance
* Support and challenge senior leaders to deliver excellent outcomes for pupils
* Uphold and strengthen the ethos of the Trust
In return, you will gain:
* Valuable experience in non-executive governance and strategic leadership
* Opportunities for professional development in areas such as finance, education policy, and organisational oversight
* New networks and perspectives through working alongside fellow professionals

We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in areas such as education, law, finance, HR, audit, estates, or risk management — though all expressions of interest are welcome.

Our ideal candidate
Essential Skills and Qualities:
- A qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a solid understanding of financial controls, budgeting, and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to interpret financial information
- Integrity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to supporting charitable work.
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to contribute constructively to board or committee discussions.
- Organised, reliable, and able to commit time consistently to support the Trust's needs.
Desirable Skills and Qualities:
- Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
- Familiarity with governance, risk management, or trustee/non-exec Director responsibilities.
- Previous involvement in strategy, risk management and financial strategy
- A collaborative and empathetic approach, aligned with the values and mission of St Teresa of Calcutta’s work.
- Local knowledge or connection to the community the Trust serves.
