About the organisation

We provide free legal advice to those who cannot afford access to justice, and empower clients to understand their legal rights.  


Our main focus is on solving legal problems such as helping people to claim benefits they are entitled to, housing repairs, and consumer problems. We also provide general advice and assistance with neighbours, unacceptable behaviour at work and so on. 


We can also provide access to mediation services. The prevention and relief of poverty and financial hardship among persons living, working or studying in particular (but not limited to) North London.

About the role

As our VolunteerTreasurer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrityof our organisation. 


Your duties will include: 

- Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional andwithin accepted accounting practice.

- Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place. 

- Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation. 

- Oversee the production of financialreports/returns and accounts. 

- Oversee the production of an annual budget. 

- Attend trustee meetings (usually 4 a year in person or on line in the evening).

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:


- Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field

- Is proficient in financial management software and tools

- Has strong organisational and analytical skills

- Detail-oriented and reliable

- Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- Shares a passion for our mission and values
