About the organisation
Sanctuary Cookalongs develops the skills of Preston’s communities, including asylum seekers, migrants and refugees, so that they can participate more fully in society through cooking workshops, community meals and buffets.
We’ve been running training opportunities, team-building exercises, cooking workshops, community lunches and buffets since April 2021.
About the role
Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant:
- Making payments via online banking.
- Summarising payments required and forwarding to the Treasurer for approval via online banking.
- Logging and allocating payments made, based on category and funding stream.
- Working with the Treasurer to identify and set up an alternative accounting package as Sanctuary Cookalongs incorporates and grows. (The cashbook is currently kept on Excel, but this may not be appropriate in the long term).
- Filing invoices and receipts for outgoing payments electronically.
- Producing invoices.
- Tracking receipts and chasing incoming payments.
- Assisting the Treasurer in producing a Payment & Expenses Policy for Sanctuary Cookalongs.
- Assisting the Treasurer and our nominated accountant in filing our year-end accounts.
- Assisting the Treasurer in producing a year-end report for presentation at our AGM.
- Producing regular financial reports as requested by our funders.
- Helping to source funding streams.
- Assisting the Operations Manager in financial forecasting.
