About the organisation

Founded in 2013, we have supported the mental health of thousands of women across Sussex.

Over the last decade, we have developed a skilled and experienced therapy team, who offer a range of services to help women address the issues life throws at them.

Our support is unique as everything we do is created and led by qualified counsellors, and we have become best known for our Therapeutic Groups and Wellbeing Days for mums.

We also run a 1:1 counselling service for women, supporting them through those other challenges in life.

About the role

Release Counselling and Therapy for Women is currently seeking a Trustee to join the Board. We are particularly seeking finance skillsets as we do not currently have this on our Board.

Responsibilities

We meet four times a year, in person in Brighton and online.

We are recruiting for a three year term and ask for one month’s notice if you would like to leave before then.

As a small charity it is a hands-on role, where every member's input makes a big impact and we have regular communication on a weekly basis between the Board and the CEO.

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for someone with finance experience who could take on the role as Treasurer, such as an accountant who can support our small charity with overseeing finances and supporting us to diversify our income.

You don’t need to have been on a Board before - we offer a full induction and ongoing learning and development opportunities.

We are committed to reflecting the communities we serve and would particularly welcome applications from people who are currently under-represented on our Board, including disabled people and those from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic communities.

What’s in it for you

As a small charity, we are a passionate team who work closely together. This means your role has a big impact on the team and the people we support.

There are various fundraising events to get involved with throughout the year.

There are opportunities to support us on our journey to diversify our funding and shape our evolving future.
