About the organisation
Our Streets Now (OSN) is a youth-led, grassroots and intersectional campaign to create a world in which everyone can feel safe and be safe in public space. Our aim is to end public sexual harassment (PSH), the set of sexually intimidating behaviours that 97% of young women have faced.
Where We Started
Our Streets Now began in April 2019 with a petition on change.org to create a specific law against public sexual harassment (PSH for short). Within the first 100 days, we had over 100,000 signatures, and more than 400,000 people have signed the petition in total. With the support of internationally recognised human rights lawyers working pro bono for us and a partnership with Plan UK, this legal campaign was a success in November 2023. However, as our values and team have evolved we have increasingly recognised the need to shift more towards preventative and transformative campaigns. Since the launch of our work in schools and universities in 2020, the majority of our work has been focused on educational solutions. We are currently undergoing a refresh of our external comms to reflect this.
What We Do
To achieve our vision of a world free from PSH for women and marginalised genders, we:
Educate on the causes, impacts and solutions to PSH
Drive community action through impactful awareness campaigns
Advocate for stronger policies and laws
In 2024/25 we are focusing on four strategic priority areas: schools, sports, higher education and high streets.

What’s in it for you
Since its launch, OSN has gone on to facilitate workshops with staff and students at schools across England, including taking on key contracts with local authorities and the Welsh government. We’ve led work with local authorities to make their high streets safer. We’ve worked with hundreds of university ambassadors and given expert testimony to Parliament on the impact of PSH on campuses, and provide solutions.
We are very excited for what 2024/25 brings and to welcome a new board member to help us achieve our goals.
