About the organisation
Music Relief Foundation (MRF) is a community charity that has been serving young people and the grassroots communities for almost fourteen years. Our mission is to transform lives through music. Dedication to community support, affordable music lessons, and social advocacy, (knife crime awareness and MRF Safe Space Girls Forum).
About the role
We are looking for trustees to join our Board, support the charity's strategic direction, drive the continuous improvement of our services, and aid our growth journey.
In this voluntary role, you will work with the CEO, staff and volunteers to ensure the effective governance of our charity. The trustees will have a strong focus on three core strategic functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- I hold the CEO accountable for the charity's overall performance and the performance management of staff and volunteers.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the charity and assuring value for money
The Board comprises individuals with various professional and personal experiences, ages, and skills. We recognise that every individual brings unique skills and knowledge.
Our ideal candidate
1). Bookkeeping and finance experience: -
Responsible for the charity's financial affairs, including bookkeeping and accounting
2). Fundraising experience:-
· To assist the Board of Trustees in developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the charity.
· To report to the Trustees every quarter, giving an update on fundraising achievements, plans, and progress.
· To ensure fundraising is of the highest standard and priority within a robust governance framework that meets all relevant legislation.
3). Digital marketing experience: Experience in digital, data or design who sits on the Board of a third-sector organisation.
- Advise in developing and implementing an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to advance our brand identity.
- Support staff in broadening awareness of the charity's values and priorities, increasing its visibility to a wider audience.
