About the organisation

Move the World is a small female-led organisation that aims to develop the next generation of active citizens in Ghana. They work to improve the education of students in impoverished communities, helping them develop life skills including leadership, communication and teamwork. In the past year they have supported over 600 students.

About the role

2x Trustees — to oversee the management and governance of Move The World, taking on specific responsibilities in line with their area(s) of interest:

  • Actively participate as a key member of the board of trustees - Lead an area of the organisation’s development  — particular areas of interest at present are corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, or monitoring and evaluation of our work

  • Act as an ambassador for Move The World, representing the charity at meetings and facilitating networking and funding opportunities as these arise

Our ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have innovative ideas and sound expertise in a particular area, excellent interpersonal and advocacy skills to work at board level, a deep commitment to international and child development and ability to translate strategy into policy and measurable actions. The following traits are desirable but not essential:

  • An understanding of the voluntary sector and previous experience as a trustee are both desirable but not essential

  • Knowledge and experience of international development

  • A West African background
