About the organisation
As a Development Education Centre, and Global Learning Network member, LWC’s work is orientated towards social, ecological, economic and racial justice, amplifying the voices of those we work with in order to bring about positive change. Collaborative projects across formal and informal education, communities, wider networks and movements for change bring our background and experience in delivering directly to young people and connect them to high-level forums for policymaking and public engagement.
About the role
We are looking for a trustee with charity finance expertise and an interest in social and climate justice to join our board.
What we’re looking for:
- Support for oversight around financial predictions & cashflow
- Helping the rest of the board understand the financial position
- Advice and support with preparation of annual accounts
Commitment:
- 4 meetings per year in central Liverpool
- Occasional support for our Co-Directors
We are keen to involve people from diverse backgrounds (young people, women, BAME communities, Disabled people, LGBTQ+ community members)
Our ideal candidate
Someone who has experience of charity finance (fund accounting, SORP requirements, Charity Commission requirements etc), and who is confident and comfortable with Excel based processes for recording income & expenditure, and managing/predicting cashflow, reserves, finance related policy and small charity finance good practice.
