About the organisation
Link UP London connects people with professional skills to London based charitable organisations on short-term, structured Volunteer Projects to help these organisations develop their capacity, reach more people and make a bigger impact in their communities.
We are currently seeking a Skilled Volunteer to place with Cold Islanders, a community initiative dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the Carribean community in the UK. Through cultural, creative and wellness focussed events —ranging from panel talks and art classes to wellness sessions and intention-setting dinners—they bring people together to share stories, ideas, and experiences that celebrate Caribbean heritage and culture.
About the role
As Cold Islanders grow, they are looking to build stronger financial systems to support future planning and delivery of even more high-quality events.
This project will include:
- Developing a clear and practical bookkeeping system or template to help track income and expenses, monitor budgets, and plan effectively.
- Providing guidance on the financial requirements of their organisation, including advice on essential policies, required reporting, and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Offering general financial advice to support long-term sustainability, including how to allocate resources to best grow their programmes and community impact.
Our ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate would have experience in bookkeeping, financial systems, and an understanding of the finances of CICs (Community Interest Companies).
