About the organisation

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. Founded in 2016, we work with primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges across the UK to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people. To do that, we run these unique programmes:

  • Ambassador programme: Our Ambassador Programme is a volunteering opportunity for LGBT+ young people aged 18-25. We support them to use their voice in schools and in the media, to develop their skills and to find a sense of community
  • School talks:  Secondary schools can book a talk from our ambassadors. Visiting schools in-person or live through an online platform, they share their personal experiences, talk about allyship and answer questions
  • Pride Groups:  This free programme supports schools to run safe and fun spaces for LGBT+ young people and their allies at lunchtime or after school
  • Curriculum Resource Portal: With over 6,500+ primary and secondary schools signed up to our free resource portal across the UK, we have hundreds of resources for all subjects and key stages
  • School Diversity Week: School Diversity Week is our annual celebration of LGBT+ inclusion in education, this year running on 23 - 27 June 2025. We encourage schools to take up an activity and a whole school approach
