About the organisation
Fusion is a non-for-profit making registered Charity working to help individuals who are experiencing housing related problems and need support, advice and guidance to resolve these. Preventing homelessness for the first or subsequent time is at the heart of everything that we do.
Fusion Housing was created in 2010 but its roots in Kirklees go back much further. Fusion Housing grew out of the joining of SHAP which supported people to successfully maintain and keep their tenancies and CHAS whose basis in Kirklees was providing housing advice and a Bond Guarantee Scheme.
Fusion’s Mission is to ‘empower people to make informed life choices and to actively take part in shaping a positive future for themselves and their communities’.
Fusion aims to ensure that individuals and families have access to suitable, affordable accommodation along with the skills needed to successfully manage and keep that accommodation; helping them to overcome the barriers that can prevent them from realising their potential. Most clients accessing our services are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Our services:
Our Initial Contact Service is the first point of contact for many individuals accessing our services. Our experienced Customer Services staff will discuss and assess the issues a person brings to ensure that they are directed to the right service and that any immediate needs are addressed.
Our Specialist Housing Advice Service provides expert advice on all housing matters and representation at Housing Possession hearings in the county courts in Huddersfield and Wakefield where needed.
Our Homes Service provides Supported Accommodation for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield who need access to additional help to remove any barriers they have to living independently. Accommodation is in both shared houses and self contained properties for up to 2 years.
Our Learning and Employment Service provides range of informal learning opportunities, information, advice and guidance to support people into education, employment and training.
Our Food and More Service serves the North Kirklees area only and is focussed on reducing food poverty through an emergency food bank and individual help to address issues that have a negative effect on household income.
