About the role
We are seeking a Finance Volunteer in an ongoing role to manage and oversee our financial operations and reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring that our organisation remains financially healthy and compliant with all regulations. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the strategic planning and sustainability of our mission to help animals in need.
Key Responsibilities will include:
· Financial Management: Maintain accurate financial records, including tracking donations, gift aid, VAT claims and expenses.
· Accounts Payable Oversight: Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to service providers.
· Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements to present and discuss at quarterly meetings.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including tax filings, audits, and financial reporting standards.
Our ideal candidate
· Experience in Accounting/Finance: experience as an accountant, preferably with nonprofit experience.
· Financial Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software such as Quickbooks.
· Knowledge of Nonprofit Finance: Understanding of nonprofit financial management, including tax regulations and SORP requirements.
