About the organisation
Ella’s is a London-based organisation working with women who have survived trafficking and sexual exploitation. Our mission is to do everything we can to ensure survivors have all they need to recover and build lives that are safe and free.
Here is a summary of our main activities:
- We run seven safe houses. This supported accommodation is crucial for survivors until they are ready to live independently.
- We provide regular support for women and families in neighbourhoods across London, and many more further afield when they need us.
- We speak out on issues affecting the women we work with. We care deeply about survivors of trafficking and exploitation and want to see a world where these crimes are not tolerated.
About the role
This role provides strategic and practical accounting support to Ella’s, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-controlled financial information. You will help strengthen our accruals-based accounting processes and support effective management of restricted funds. In addition, the role supports trustees and senior staff by providing reliable financial insight to inform planning, reporting, and funding decisions. The role requires a commitment of approximately 3–4 days per month for a minimum period of six months. Tasks will include a mix of regular monthly activity and ad-hoc support as required.
Our ideal candidate
- Experience managing or overseeing budgets of £500k+.
- Strong understanding of charity finance, including restricted funds and reporting requirements.
- Ability to present financial information clearly in accessible formats.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or AAT).
- Experience using Xero
