About the organisation
Bromley Mencap is an independent, self-funded charity supporting disabled people since 1951. Each year, they provide support for over 1,400 families through their telephone helpline, over 200 adults make use of their adult care and leisure services, 180 families benefit from their children and family services and they provide employment support to over 250 disabled adults.
About the role
Chairing the Finance and General Purposes Committee (F&GP) which reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees on:
Budgets and financial plans
Statutory accounts and audit
Cash management, investments and reserves
Accounting policies and procedures
Presenting and explaining F&GP recommendations to the Board
Making a formal presentation of the accounts at the Annual General Meeting
Providing advice and support to the Finance Manager, as necessary
