We provide services to over 1,600 people living with sight loss in Berkshire, including Sight Loss Support, Rehabilitation, Realeyes Route Learning, Employability, Tech Buddies, Equipment, Children and Families, Telephone Befriending, Adapted Sports, and Social Activities. Location: Meetings typically held in Reading, Berkshire

 

Make a difference to the lives of people affected by sight loss in Berkshire.

Berkshire Vision is seeking a committed and experienced finance professional to join our Board of Trustees as a Trustee. This is a rewarding voluntary opportunity to use your financial expertise to support a local charity making a real difference in the community. If you believe you have the skills and enthusiasm to contribute to our board in a non-finance role, we would still love to hear from you.

The Role

- Provide financial oversight and strategic guidance to the Board

- Work closely with the Chair of Trustees, Finance and Investment Committee, and senior staff

- Help ensure financial sustainability and compliance

- Monitor the performance of our outsourced accounting firm


What We’re Looking For

- A qualified or experienced finance professional

- Strategic thinker with good judgement

- Experience of dealing with external investment advisors (desirable)

- Commitment to Berkshire Vision’s mission


Time Commitment

- Quarterly board meetings

- Quarterly Finance and Investment Committee meetings

- Ad hoc trustee duties in between meetings if required
