About the organisation
The Abbeyfield Beaconsfield Society (Bradbury House) is a residential care home in Beaconsfield, Bucks, providing 24 hour care for up to 42 elderly residents. We are a member of the Abbeyfield group of societies, one of the leading care home providers in the UK. Our care home is successfully run and financially sound. We also pride ourselves on retaining a highly motivated, skilled and stable team with many of the staff having been employed with us for over a period of 10 years or more.
The Society is a run on a not for profit basis by a highly committed management team supported by a body of of nine trustees who utilise the skills acquired in their professional lives to help ensure our 42 residents receive the best possible care. We pride ourselves on providing a secure, relaxed and homely environment within our home while being financially strong. We offer appropriate levels of support and care to preserve the privacy, dignity and independence of each person. We also operate an Activity Centre which has recently undergone a successful major redevelopment and which caters for up to 8 day care visitors each day.
About the role
The person will take part in shaping and directing the financial policies and procedures within Bradbury House. The person will report to the Executive Committee on financial matters related to the Home at the Executive Trustee Committee meetings and you will need to be able to commit to attending these meetings six times a year plus an AGM. Additional calls on your time will be sought through your chairing of our finance committee meetings on a monthly basis which are held remotely.
Our ideal candidate
We are seeking a person who lives in relatively easy access to the Beaconsfield area with a background in finance capable of filling the position of Honorary Treasurer at Bradbury House. Ideally, the successful candidate would be able to demonstrate experience in a wide range of financial matters as well as showing the ability to communicte clearly with members of the staff and fellow trustees. The successful candidate would also be expected to join other trustees in helping shape and determine all policies related to the running of the Home.
