About the organisation
The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans organise outings, entertainment, transport and other support for former servicemen and women who are disabled, elderly, infirm, impoverished, lonely or otherwise in need of charitable assistance by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities.
The charity secures funding through grants, private and public donations and various fund-raising initiatives. It is governed by a board of 11 volunteer Trustees, the majority of whom are Licenced London Taxi Drivers. Additionally, we have a dedicated group of over 100 London Cab Drivers who regularly volunteer to drive veterans in and around London and the Home Counties, to the seaside and the battlefields of Europe to attend commemorative events and services of Remembrance.
In 2021, the TCMV received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
