About the organisation
We are a leading charity in clergy wellbeing and mental health. Our vision is for flourishing clergy, a healthy church, and transformed communities. We focus on three core areas: Preventive – creative initiatives to enhance clergy wellbeing, reduce stress and build psychological health. Restorative – one-to-one treatment and care for individual clergy and their families. Advocacy – promoting clergy wellbeing and sharing learning between dioceses.
The trustees have agreed the following strategic priorities to help us pursue our vision and mission: 1. Preventive Support – actively supporting clergy wellbeing through pastoral supervision and reflective practice, and equipping partners to embed prevention. 2. Evidence-based Advocacy – using insight from practice and research to contribute to a healthier Church. 3. Research and Evaluation – learning systematically from our work to strengthen evidence and impact. 4. Restorative Care – providing timely and confidential psychological and psychiatric support. 5. Sustainable Growth – securing the charity’s future through diversified income, effective systems, and partnerships.

What’s in it for you
Trusteeship is, at heart, a way of making a meaningful difference.
At St Luke’s, that means contributing to work which supports the wellbeing of clergy and their families across the Anglican church in the UK. Through preventive initiatives, restorative care, and sector-wide advocacy, we help ensure that those who serve the Church are themselves supported to flourish. As a trustee, you would play a direct role in shaping that work helping to sustain and strengthen something that has real, human impact.
St Luke’s has been serving clergy for over 130 years. That history brings both stability and a responsibility to keep adapting our work to the needs of today’s Church. This is a moment of development and transition, and trustees play a key role in holding both continuity and change well.
Alongside this, trusteeship offers the opportunity to develop your own skills and experience. You will engage with questions of strategy, governance, risk, and organisational development within a complex and evolving landscape. Whether you are new to trusteeship or bring prior experience, the role offers scope to grow in judgement, insight, and leadership.
You will also be part of a thoughtful and committed Board, working alongside others who bring a range of professional backgrounds and perspectives. There are opportunities to contribute to specific areas of work, support key initiatives, and build relationships across the wider Church and charity sector.
We provide a structured induction and ongoing support, recognising that effective trusteeship is something that develops over time.
Above all, this is an opportunity to use your skills, experience, and perspective in service of a clear purpose: supporting the wellbeing of those who serve others.
