About the organisation

Domestic abuse is always unacceptable. At Behind Closed Doors, we support everyone affected by it in Leeds and we act to prevent it. We've been tackling domestic abuse in our community for over 25 years, and are the only service in the city that provides end-to-end support for everyone.

We are there at the point of crisis, we stay on to work with individuals and families through their recovery, and we deliver preventative activities in the form of training with services, charities, in the workplace and in educational settings.

We have supported thousands of people whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse; last year alone, over 900 people came to us for help. Our Lime Culture Accredited men’s domestic abuse service is recognised as the specialist service in Leeds. We also have a LGBTQIA+ specialist and are proud to offer our services to everyone.
